DREAD
This is where I'll keep information about the characters and locations and shit in my passion project/fictional universe
This is the shitty map I made on inkarnate^. It's free, and you can create fantasy maps. It doesn't let you use very many of the icons with the free version, though. Willring is a temporary name. I imagine the story to take place in the large city on the bottom left continent, the one in the valley surrounded my mountains and south of the river.
There is no magic in this world.
SUMMARY: In the world of Willring, humans fight a forever war against the man-eating _____ which the corrupt government has made illegal to kill in the sake of "population control". A small band of renegades called the Hawks have taken it into their own hands to exterminate all monsters for the sake of their kind, and when a broody bystander gets caught up in their plans, she reveals herself to be the killing machine that they were looking for.
WILLRING
I imagine this would be the main setting of the story. Maybe the characters would travel to the other ones, I don't know.
climate- it would be pretty arid, and dry, a little bit dusty. Water would flow down from the windy wet mountains to nourish the valley where the city lies. Rainstorms would be few and far between, but also extremely severe. This continent would grow wheat in the dry seasons, and star melons in the wet season.
population- the people in this continent would mostly live in Elsport City. tiny villages would be spread along the southern coast, but the only other civilization of notable size would be the town north of the rives and west of the tower.
notable locations- Elsport City mountain range (name undecided), Titan Tower, river (undecided), Northeast forest
NOTE: The monsters are immune to bullets and projectiles, because of their metal-like exterior. the way to take them down is to beat them with something to cause vibrations inside their body which enrages them, then to hit them in the fleshy areas that the vibrations cause by knocking off the scales. Hitting this area knocks them out for hours, and then you must inject them with the Hawk Spit (a special lab-made poison that is the only thing known to kill the monsters). The Hawk Spit takes action immediately once injected, and you know it is dead when its eyes glaze over and its scales wither. Young monsters, too young to have formed their protective coating, can be killed like any other creature.
CHARACTERS
I'll upload art at some point, maybe
anyways
The Hawks
1- Sentinel Hawk
2- Dylan Smith
3- Holt Holiday
4- Ingrid Schneider
5- Blake Foster
6- Forrest Jones
7- Ali Baudelaire
8- Phillip Archie Johnson
9- Dorothea Marquez
10- Jun Liu
11- Ichor Lee
Ichor Lee- the main character. she is tall and slim (this totally isn't a self insert) with mid length black hair that she cut herself into badly done layers. She wears it in a slick back ponytail. She wears a black dress with a peter pan collar, black socks below the knee, and sleek black platform shoes. She appears to be very inexpressive, with a flat affect, being a generally sad person. When someone takes the time to get to know her, she is very sly and emotional. Her sadness is a secondary product of anger that she keeps inside, frustration from a mundane life. She has three eyes, two normal ones and one in the center of her forehead (which she promptly loses). As much as she hates being forced to join The Hawks, she eventually comes to realize that she enjoys taking out her rage on the monsters, constantly having assignments, and feeling a sense of community. She goes from flat and depressed, to reckless and unhinged, to a vitriolic, steadfast, and resentful person who puts morals above all else.
She fights with her black bass, who she names Dread, after her initial feeling when she realizes everything has been flipped on its head.
Blake Foster- probably more of a tritagonist character, and the one who rescues Ichor from the initial monster and coerces her into joining the Hawks. She is of moderate height, with a powerful build and short blonde hair. She wears a tank top and jeans, with long arm sleeves covering both of her arms from the shoulder to the knuckles. She says it makes her "feel nice". She is skilled in welding and construction. She is very bold and outspoken, however self absorbed and greedy for attention. She takes great pride in the Hawks and considers them to be her family. She would do anything to assist in killing the monsters and to receive glory.
narcissistic and overambitious- insecure and crippled- caring and peaceful
She fights with a baseball bat that has metal coated ends.
Dylan Elaine Smith- second protagonist, the one to befriend/mentor Ichor and teach her how to kill the monsters. A long-standing member of the Hawks, and the first one to agree to follow Sentinel Hawk. He is tall and muscular, yet slim. His hair is deep and black, and unkempt. He has minor stubble, brown eyes, and tanned skin. He is very laid back and relaxed, but also takes his job seriously. His loyalty to the Hawks can't be measured, and he puts The Sentinel's opinion over anyone else's. He does not like to be criticized, and is very avoidant of conflict. If an issue arises, he will often leave without warning and complete the task on his own. He would go from relaxed and avoidant, to someone who sees the value of togetherness.
He fights with a crowbar, which was reinforced with metal by Blake.
Sentinel Hawk- The energetic and optimistic leader and founder of the Hawks. He decided to form them after witnessing the monsters' chaotic effect on people as a teenager, and decided to do something about it. He is very cheerful, friendly, and passionate. He tries his very best to keep himself hidden, as he fears running into the police who he calls The Falcons. However, his personality often gets in the way of his stealthiness, as he hates having to always be in the shadow. He can be a bit hyperactive and nonsensical, but when it comes to killing monsters he never messes around. He would be willing to die, as long as he took a monster down with him. He would go from over ambitious and spirited, to down to earth and depressed.
He fights with a sledgehammer.
Holt Holiday- snide, sarcastic, but great team worker and quick thinker.
Pipe Wrench
Ingrid Schneider- bleached hair, bad attitude, wears snow boots, blue eyes, lisp
Shovel
Forrest Jones- muscular and intimidating, talkative, doesn't know own strength, soft-hearted
Barbell
Allie Baudelaire- long dreadlocks, orange lipstick, short, angry and confident, dramatic
2x4
Phillip Johnson- calm, collected, scientific, inventor of Hawk Spit, paranoid about his work
Mag-lite
Dorothea Marquez- quiet, extravagant, sensitive, loves to do hair and makeup and decorate, hates to fight but is competent
Cane
Jun Liu- methodical, list-based, wary, athletic, self-doubts, protective
Lead Pipe
